Good Film!


I liked it a lot, the camerawork and actors are so natural, much more so than in many of today's movies.

I read somewhere that it was only meant to be a 20 minute documentary (or doc. style)...but the Director stretched it out to feature lengt by improvisiong the dialogue and much of the films story...that's why it's so natural looking.

I was 8 when film was made and lived (and still live) in Toronto, and when I see this it is such a time warp of the City that used to be...

Sadly, actor Peter Kasner passed away on September 18, 2008, and Eldon Rathburn, who composed the original music, passed away on August 31, 2008...

My wife saw it in high school and hated it. We both watched it online last night; she still hated it and now I do too. I wanted to smack the bejesus out of the "Peter" character and felt only somewhat less hostile toward "Julie." Two spoiled brats. It's a shame they reproduced and we're still trying to figure out what's "endearing" about them. It was, however, entertaining to hear his "OOT! OOT, OOT, OOT!" and "agaynst" during his fight with his beleaguered mom at aboot 32:00.
