I missed some of the film, right after the Captain wants the Jewish girl to pretend to be an American. When I came back everyone on the ship knew she was Jewish. What happened to the Captain's plan ?

She gets angry, loses her cool, and admits it in front of the Nazi XO and others. Big mistake obviously.
