Love the way this film ends ... it certainly left many possibilities ... some tragic ... some optimistic. I chose the positive ... SOS signal picked up by Americans ... Brynner & Brando rescued ... USA gets rubber which ends war sooner ... others who are adrift are rescued ... Jewish girl spared from a lifetime of torment ... war ends ... my Dad meets my Mom ...

That wasn't SOS. The rubber was only a three month supply, so it wouldn't have had a major effect on the war.
