It said in the did you know section that brando did this movie because he was in debt to the studio.How do actors get in debt to the studio ??

They get paid for doing multi-picture deals. Sometimes they get paid ahead of time and no pictures. Or they may do independent films under the studio contract with the understanding that I'll make two more pictures for nothing or at a discounted rate.
