What Happened to the Missing Footage?

I Have the special edition DVD of Monster A Go Go & there is not only both an interview & commentary track by original Director Bill Rebane, but a detailed booklet explaining how the film came to be made. there are still photographs of Henry Hite as the Monster attacking the couple in their car. we never see this scene in the finished film, just the Girl looking up & screaming. there is talk of other scenes either shortened or omitted entirely. what's more Bill Rebane says the original ending was to have been that the Astronaut was finally cured of his affliction,exposure to Cosmic Radiation by a last minute Antidote. i don't believe that part was ever filmed due to trouble generating funds. why the hell didn't H.G. Lewis just finish the film properly with the original vision/storyline Mr. Rebane had wanted? this couldve been a Good Movie if a little more ''Effort'' were put into it. a missed opportunity.
