Angela Lansbury

I have a soft spot for Miss Lansbury anyway - but I think she was particularly affecting in this somewhat odd film.

The way she hands him (a total stranger) the money, saying: "You're lost, antcha? So... go find yaself!" is SO wonderful.

Bless you, Angela. ;)

I remember seeing old episodes of Murder she wrote. I had a certain impression of her then. Later, I started watching a lot of older movies. She kept popping up in a lot of them; all different kinds from the time she was very young through to perhaps middle age. These were long before Murder she wrote.

In most, or all, of the movies I've seen her in, she usually played the not-so-nice girl; the smart-mouthed, troublemaker; always there to taunt or terrorize those around her. She played those roles well. In this movie she's believable as the old, drunk hag but she also plays sophisticated lady well too.

Ms. Lansbury has starred in a lot of really good movies. She'w worked with many of the early legends of Hollywood, and, long after almost all of them have past away, as far as I know, she's still going strong today. What an amazing career she's had!
