Eileen Baral as Gretl in SOM?

Eileen Baral, who played the little girl "Irene" in "Mirage," was up for another 1965 release.

A few days ago, I had an opportunity to review some original production notes and casting call sheets for the film version of "The Sound of Music." In December 1963, Eileen Baral, listed as age 6 1/2, tested for the role of five year old Gretl. She even got a recall, but the January 1964 call sheet says it was cancelled because she "took another role."
