So-So film

"Mirage" touches all the Left's favorite points:

Vast conspiracy focused on one man

A stupendous advancement for world peace stymied by a corrupt for-profit company

Said advancement sought by said corrupt profit seeker to hurt people instead of to help them

An eloquent idealist derails the conspiracy after persuading some of the conspirators

Babes love idealists who love people and hate profits.

*Yawn* Bring back the blacklist so Commies aren't boring us to tears, please.

This is one of the nuttiest things I've ever read about a truly great, underappreciated thriller. Brilliant writing, performances, cinematography, score, direction. It's got it all.

And this OP has gone off his rocker.

Agree. I loved the movie until the Big Conspiracy was revealed. World peace. Better nukes. I mean, c'mon you idealist pansies. In the end I still liked it but I wish it would have gone somewhere else.

LOL!

Those were much simpler days. Now, there has to be race, gender and class touchpoints for the lefties.

Hobartz, that is too funny! It made me laugh and it is also very true. That ending totally ruined an otherwise very interesting movie! It seemed like such an obvious cop-out.

... Babes love idealists who love people and hate profits.
but boy do they love the things that profits can buy!

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

An attempt at something Hitchcockian, but it falls short. Rather dull.
