Disappointed in DVD transfer

I was greatly looking forward to seeing this movie but was greatly disappointed by the poor quality transfer on the new Region 1 DVD.

Both the picture and sound seem to not have had any restoration work done on them and the subtitles were often missing, and sometimes had grammatical errors. I guess I should be grateful this classic movie should be on DVD at all, so much classic stuff isn't!
