how awesome is this movie

i love this movie. i saw it on ifc then went and bought it. the dvd has this awesome featurette with the director and this awesome little story about the main actor in the movie, and about what happened to him. Anyways just thought I'd say that I LOVED this movie. The ending was kind of sad but i really liked the song they played with the girl on the guitar singing, it was pretty. Summing things up, this movie was great.

Yeah, this movie really stuck in my mind after seeing it. A sad ending but several funny moments in the middle, and clearly drawn characters. Very memorable overall. Bravo Milos Forman.

IMO "Loves of a Blonde" is a good movie, but it's far from being a masterpiece. Forman was still maturing and that's evident in this film.
What called my attention the most, is how strong was the influence of the french Nouvelle Vague and the italian Neoralism, on Forman's early works.

I have enjoyed "LOAB" for what it is: One of the 1st works (and a good one) from a remarkable filmmaker.

However, from Forman's Czech period I liked better "The Fireman's Ball".

7/10

just my 2 cents.

I watched it last night for the first time and I also
loved it.There are some very funny things in this movie
that had us laughing. From the dance hall, the bedroom,
to the parents house, some very clever comedy. The music
and dance scenes were also good.A really fun and sad
movie.

It's one of my least favourite films of the Czech New Wave. The story is rather dull, none of the characters are likeable, the humour is not really funny, too much of the dialogue consists of outright nagging. 5/10

For much better Czech films of the same period, I recommend Ostre sledovane vlaky (Closely Observed Trains) and Sedmikrasky (Daisies).
