A Must Have on DVD in widescreen!

Here's a film that really needs to be seen on DVD, in widescreen. The locales are stunning and so is Lana in any number of outlandish costumes. Add to that the fact that most of the cast runs around in swimsuits (and the men are particularly hunky) and you've got a winner of a film that succeeds where it fails most. Sure, it's absolute TRASH, but that's precisely what makes it so much fun to watch, particularly with a group of friends. A buddy loaned me a copy of this he found on VHS to show to the local bar I frequent, and we were all hooting and hollering, it was so campy and risque.

I hope someone from the studio that has the distribution rights to LOVE HAS MANY FACES reads this, or at least word gets back to this person that they're sitting on a pretty hot property. Yes, Lana Turner has her following, and they may not consider this film to be her strongest. But LOVE HAS MANY FACES is a stupendously entertaining bit of high-camp, belongs in distribution, and perhaps will earn a soft spot in the hearts of many who can, with today's sensibilities, look back on this steamy potboiler and appreciate it in a new, and hysterical light.

Just caught this flick - it's great ! Like a great trashy novel, never boring, lots of tough guys, hard dames, and cheezy love-hate dialogue. I have seen far worse. Lana looks great, btw, hard to believe people thought "40-something" was such a distasteful word then. Kudos also to to Cliff Robertson, plus Hugh O'Brian and Ruth Roman for some spice.

Imagine being Lana Turner during production of this film: costumed, lit, and shot with great care, cast opposite beautiful men, and shooting in Acapulco. Man, that was really living!

Time has been good to this one. It's a wow, and plays better now than it did when I saw it originally on the big screen. I went through my LP's not long ago and even found the old Capitol LP which has Nancy Wilson singing the title number from the film.
