Connie could have been a big movie star in another era

If she had been there during the time of big musicals I think she would have had a much bigger movie career.

You may be right. After seeing this last night for the first time I wondered how Francis could only have seven acting credits to her name. She was fantastic and looked great in those glamorous dresses.

I recently began to notice that people who were in their prime in the 1960s, 70s, and to a certain extent, the 80s, had it kind of rough because there weren't enough film projects available to showcase their talents. In the 70s and 80s in-particular, if you weren't lucky enough to be part of a film franchise (Star Wars, Star Trek, Back to the Future, etc.) there wasn't a lot else out there, quality wise. Fortunately the industry began to get back on track by the end of the 80s and the past couple of decades have been much better.

She looked great! She was definitely the star of this movie. :) Her performances were amazing. By the way, I can totally relate to the height jokes made about her, since I'm quite short myself (five foot three).

"Looking for Love" is definitely her best song, IMHO. :) :)

I thought that she was wonderful in this movie! She put on such wonderful performances! But then, maybe I'm biased, because I've been listening to music from that time period for the past 25 years. The 1954 - 1964 music period rocks!

"Looking for Love" is her best song, IMHO.

She did such an amazing job of singing all the songs in this movie! Too bad this movie isn't better known.

I always felt the same way Connie could have had a huge film career even in light comedies

Imo Connie Francis was a great pop singer, but as for the OP's point here, while I tend to agree with it, I wonder if she would have actually preferred to pursue more of an acting career than her music. Of course she could have balanced both more toward acting, but I think she worked pretty steadily at her music career.
