Costumes
Natalie's costumes, by that untalented, self-promoting hack Edith Head, are awful; they're just completely anachronistic. However, Katharine Bard's period costumes, designed by veteran costume designer Bill Thomas, are superbly dazzling, and on the money. Thomas was, for years, the house designer at Universal, and he worked with all the divas of the Golden Age of Hollywood who went to that second-rate studio in the '50s, when their careers were waning. He was a talented designer whose name is virtually forgotten today, but Ms. Bard's wardrobe is a testament to his genius. (The less said about Edith Head, the better; what a fraud she was!)
