30's, 400's, 50's, 60's...the screen writers and producers seem unable to pick a decade to box this story into. Not a huge fan of Ms. Woods in the first place but between the awkward hair and dramatic Broadway-style line delivery she seems miscast. Robert Redford is why I'll watch for a little bit longer, just out of curiosity.
shareI couldn't agree more. That studio presentation promo film (where she dances among the stars) was something right out of the 1960s, not the 1930s. I tuned in right before and thought "What the heck is this?"
shareAgreed. I really wanted to like this movie. I've always been a fan of both Christopher Plummer and Robert Redford, and they are charismatic and beautiful as always in this story. But Natalie Wood overacts and is anything but believable. A hot mess, for sure.
