Sweden had a undeserved reputation at the time. And Hope just played to the ridiculous stereotypes. So bad it's worth a take as a period piece.

I just watched it and found it more amusing than I expected. Funniest moment: when Hope, worried about his daughter's virginity, says good-bye to her and she says, "Don't worry--I won't do anything you wouldn't do." The expression on Hope's face was great.

I thought it was fine with a few laughs. 6/10 would be my rating.
