R1 DVD coming April 5, 2011
Sony is at last releasing The Heroes of Telemark on DVD in the U.S. on April 5, 2011. It's long been available on Region 2 DVD but somehow never made it onto R1 before now. No information at present about any extras, or lack of same. But the price is a great $14.95, and of course less from most sites.
A couple of years ago an expedition located the wreck of the real ferry sunk in the fjord by Norwegian saboteurs, as depicted in this film, its cargo of heavy water mostly still intact. An interesting coda to the movie.
