'Where Eagles Dare' Light.....

Not a bad film, but pales when compared to another commando in the snow drama, that being "Where Eagles Dare."

Well, they do have the drawback that this is actually a true story while `Where Eagles Dare" is total fiction.

WED is far more outlandish and overly complicated than the plot of HOT.

I've seen the future and I've left it behind.

WED is probably the most cartoonish commando film I've ever seen. The action sequences would fit in with many of today's kids films.

The premise and double agent parts were intelligent but that's about it.

in the beginning was scenery with obvious props which don't seem well to start off a movie like that, for a while seem like the most peaceful war movie ever, i recognised the hymn but with norwegian words since its one of the most played christmas songs, its also funny to see these well known american and british actors in this location and with norwegian names on them, notice the fella coming in on ski out in the field reminds of the classic invisible man portrayal.

to my planet she came in a stream of fish,
raised up from the sea weakened my knees, hypnotized me on a magic string,
lead me anywhere you want,
used feminine exotic charm,
to enslave a helpless honky tonk heart,
now mornin coffee stuck in my throat,
as i got more sugar than could be asked for,
since this playful goddess came along,
as sailed in from the nile and became ruler of my rock.

Ironically, after catching this in the middle on 'GRIT' television, for about 10 minutes, I actually thought it was WED. I could have sworn I saw Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood but, then, I recognized Richard Harris and Kirk Douglas.

I started thinking, "Hey, I don't recall Richard Harris and Kirk Douglas being in WED...", then realized it was a completely different movie.
