This movie was filmed in April and May of 1965 and then released in June of 1965! WHEW! I can't believe they edited and scored this picture so quickly. But it actually explains a lot as to why the movie is so dreadful.

It was ahead of its time in that it was basically filmed on a forerunner of a TV-movie production schedule - which meant fast.
In the studio days many feature films were in theaters only months after the first day of shooting, because much was done preproduction. Even in the 1950s, a major film production such as AUNTIE MAME could start shooting on April 1st and was completed in time to be the Christmas attraction at Radio City Music Hall, opening at the end of November.

Of course, they were also competing with that other HARLOW movie released the same year and starring Carol Lynley. Ironically, character-actor Harry Holcombe, was featured in both!
Yes but still this means they only had a month of editing! I have to say the picture quality and sets actually look good...it's the movie itself that I can't stand.
