Lee Remick

She was very hot in this film with those big blue eyes and the red hair.

She may have been hot, but the movie was just awful. Women and westerns seldom go well together (no offense to women). Making it comedic didn't help either.

reply

She was an attractive woman, period.

I've always been in love w/ those eyes of hers.

This movie is a total BOMB. During all its duration of more than two hours, there are no jokes, or any situation that could remotely be described as funny. Lee Remick's exquisite beauty is its only good point, and one good point is not enough to save a totally ill-conceived misbegotten mess of a movie.

reply

It does have some funny scenes, but it could have been made a lot funnier.
What makes it still watchable is the great cast and the many well done action scenes of the film

Lee and Brian and the others do a great job driving the wagons, they had a good trainer

She was the prettiest villain of all time (and from a man's point of view she would be the villain)...i love this movie. My favorite scenes are the ones with Brian Keith.

I thought this film was extremely funny when I was a child, it was one of my favourites and it is still good. Burt Lancaster was a fantastic commedy actor.

Sturges actually wanted James Garner for Gearhart, but he (Garner) didn't care for the script. As much as I like Lancaster in the part, the script's actually tailored toward Garner's talents. It would have been interesting to see him in the part.

Same here. There's several movies I saw as a kid that I thought were hilarious and this is one of them. Now that I'm much older, I don't find it as funny as I did then, but I still like it.

Her various bath tub scenes with Burt Lancaster are amusingly sexy, but the movie is just a train wreck.

Yes she was. Yes she was. :-)

She does look so good in this movie but I think that she loses out on the best lines in the movie. She hardly gets any whereas Burt Lancaster gets all the best dialogue.
