Song in film?

When Juliette is at her neighbors house and she sits on the stairs a song starts to play. A black woman is lying on her back singing with the soundtrack. It's the scene where the young man comes to sleep with Juliette.
I cannot find the song title. It is on itunes but I do not want to buy the whole album. It would be gratly appreciated for the title! Thanks

I DID buy the whole album and can tell you that song isn't on it! And they're all by Nino Rota, so I'm guessing the reason for that song being excluded is that it's the one thing not by Nino Rota... wish I knew more!

me too...it doesn't sound anything like a Rota soundtrack.

The film is from 1965, so the music must be from that time or a little earlier. I listen a lot to Morricone, and this piece of music sounded much like his style. But I doubt he wrote it. Besides that, there were many composers that were creating music like that in the sixties (or at least from what I have heard myself...I was not around)

I myself have spent a lot of time trying to figure this one out. You must look for the ORIGINAL recording. The name of the song is "Vascello Di Susi (Nino Rota feat. Wanani)", you only get a few seconds of her gorgeous wailing in the beginning of the track. Here's how to get it: http://www.soundtracksonvinyl.com/movie-soundtracks/original-juliet-of-the-spirits-vinyl-soundtrack-1965-by-nino-rota/
