I always thought Mars Invades Puerto Rico was awfully suspicious as a
supposed "original title." Had a chance to interview James Karen, and
he adamantly ASSURED me said alt "original title" was not the
case...and he ought to know, right?--Stately

I've just read the liner notes with the DVD and apparently that title was used in Latin America. It was used like a newspaper banner headline, always in capitals-
"MARS INVADES PUERTO RICO!"
was blurted out all over the advertsing.

Because, as everyone knows, once you conquer Puerto Rico, the rest of the nations of the world will just fall into place....

the ''true'' original title for this film was DUEL OF THE SPACE MONSTERS. a great sounding title that couldve worked, however they figured adding FRANKENSTEIN would garner more interest at the box office. a very enjoyable film.
