Just got it on Amazon and watched it yesterday... TERRIBLE, but hilarious! :-)

I don't think I've ever seen any movie with more 'stock' footage in it. NASA was very kind to the producers. *LOL*

Well I posted here way before that, back when IMDB was just a dial-in BBS in 1989. Click on the "archives" button to see those old posts. Doesn't work on MacOSX or Windows XP/Vista/7.

Here is my original post:

"It's been almost a quarter-century since this film came out and the special effects still hold up pretty well. In the coming 1990's I have heard that most if not all films will be in colour so it'll be a shame to lose the sepia tones of black and white.

Although the story has little to do with the original Frankenstein, the defective android Frank looks virtually identical to Mary Shelley's original drawings of the character. And in her book she does describe the character as being a 'mechanical being indistinguishable from a well spoken and well groomed man" Later in the book, the character is indeed in a fire and goes 'defective' (the term is used throughout the book as a stand-in for 'insane').

The character's name is Phinneas H. Dent (the joke being that 'dent' is an appropriate name for a being made of metal). Of course, in Batman lore the character of Two-Face (who looks just like Frank in this movie) is really Harvey Dent (they dropped "Phinneas", since that name had become quite old fashioned by the mid 20th century)."
