I read your review and enjoyed both the film and your review. In it you wonder if any movies had been shot with the camera perspective of rolling around like that. The 1962 Soviet movie by great Tarkovski made a movie called "Ivan's childhood". It uses same camera techniques and I wonder if that film inspired "The Fool Killer"? The same techniques and interestingly both movies are about the adventures of a 12 year old boy. In Ivan's Childhood is a bit darker since it's a Soviet Boy's adventures during WW2 which are more like horror's tbh.
