TWO OF WHICH I BARELY REMEMBER AND ONE IVE NEVER HEARD OF...ID SAY FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX DEFINITELY DESERVED A NOMINATION.SUCH A GREAT FLICK,THE REMAKE IS PRETTY SOLID TOO.

I just re-watched it. An overlooked classic. Stewart was also Oscar worthy.

Definitely was the film of the year over those others. It did get two Oscar nominations: Ian Bannen for best Supporting and best film editing. If it was up to me it would have swept the Oscars!

I agree that the film deserved more awards and recognition, but this was mid-60s America. The zeitgeist killed it for the highest prizes. I think that its popularity will grow.

I haven't seen those other films but Phoenix is a flawless movie. I only wish we had a decent blu ray available.
