Petition the National Film Registry to Add Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

For those who don't know, the National Film Registry is a group of films selected each year to be preserved by the Library of Congress. These are American films which are deemed to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." You can see the list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Film_Registry It's a good list overall, but it's lacking in some areas. In particular, I think Russ Meyer needs to be represented and this film is the most likely candidate for inclusion from his body of work.

You can nominate films here: https://www.loc.gov/programs/national-film-preservation-board/film-registry/nominate/ You can select up to fifty. They just need to be American and at least ten years old. I won't ask you to pick anything other than FPKK, but personally I selected several notable mainstream films that are absent (Rope, The Great Escape, Bad Day at Black Rock, The Seven Year Itch, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Die Hard, The Shining, etc.) as well as cult classics like this film, Blood Feast, Pink Flamingos, Dawn of the Dead, Scorpio Rising, Flaming Creatures, The Evil Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Wild Angels, Carnival of Souls, and Deep Throat ("culturally and historically significant"? It certainly fits the bill).

In many ways the Registry is the official film history of the United States and I do think they make an effort to be inclusive (Val Lewton, Roger Corman, George Romero and John Carpenter are all represented after all). But, like most critics and awarding bodies, they have blind spots when it comes to certain types of films, so I think that as fans we should try and help them out. Let's all rally behind Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! this year and hopefully next year it will be selected and we can pick another one to get behind.
