An overlooked classic

I haven't seen this movie in a very long time but am considering purchasing it on DVD for my collection. Jerry Lewis was the straight body guard and he was the seven, distinct and idiosyncratic uncles. A remake? Are you kidding? And who would that be, Eddie Murphy? Eddie Murphy did pretty well in the remake of The Nutty Professor, but this would be a stretch too far for him. There's only one Jerry Lewis and this, though not a great film you'd expect at the Cannes Film Festival, nonetheless is a showcase of him at his best.

I regret your attempt at putting me down. Do you just watch all movies just once? Are you this way with music, too? My memory isn't a problem because I enjoy repeating joyous stimulation. It means I pan its gold nuggets, but I worry that you just listen or watch once and feel you've gotten any gold out of it. I dread that this is the case for you with art in great museums, too. If you're this under-stimulated you have depression and you should have it treated. I hope the best for you.

There is a big difference between watching a movie with a plot & a conclusion, compared with most other viewing or listening pleasures.

In other words, you know the ending & the scenes leading up to it -- the suspense & unknowing is the main interest. Once seen, that cannot be repeated, unless you forget.

WOW. Calling someone a loser because they like a movie so much they actually would like to watch it more than once? What are you smoking? Do you see the other message boards for different movies about how people watch movies they like more than once? Maybe a "Citizen Kane" for example? Jerry Lewis isn't only funny for the 1st time you see one of his funny scenes. And then just jumping to a word like "Loser"? I'm not even sure that you live on this planet. Never saw a movie more than once. What a sad sad thing. You must be a troll. Such a bizarre post.
