Should have been MST'd

The guys at MST3K would have had a field day with this one.

I spent an enjoyable morning with my fellow cohorts spoofing this film.

We learnt a lot:

Dr Who likes little girls- a lot.

Little girls are more intelligent than 3 adults together.

As you get radiation poisoning and you happen to have a beehive hairdo- it gets bigger.

The Daleks went to the William Shatner school of acting.

If you have a ring modulator to voice Daleks, it's an invitation to talk really slow and silly.

Even Daleks have their own accents- the Cockney one was the best.

Boy George took his dress sense and demeanor from the Thal.

Prop guys like to have fun as well by not opening the automatic doors when the actor with a bad northern accent tries to go through it.

The scenery might be moving- but if Dr Who says it's made of metal it must be true.

Daleks favour Bic pens with Bobbles on to the swap shop style biros on a string.

Dr Who puts his Coco the Clown make up on when he has radiation poisoning. While little Suzie busts out some cracking facial hair and rosy cheeks.

Do you suspect ... "foul play"?

Too bad you and your pals didn't actually watch this film instead of making cheap jokes over a few beers. You might have found it entertaining.

Being 'riffed' by M.S.T.3.K. is like being savaged by a dead sheep. Those guys could not make even a hyena laugh.

Sorry, but I disagree about the MST3K crew being unfunny. However, I enjoy this film and don't think it would provide much fodder for riffing.

MST3K ran for ten years, DVDs are still being released, and the Rifftrax guys [three of the MST3K cast] are still making fun of bad movies over a dozen years later. Someone must be laughing. I know I am.

Most movies that have been given the MST3K treatment are masterpieces compared to this disaster. The scenes where the Daleks banter among themselves could be used to torture Gitmo detainees. I didn't have extremely high hopes for a movie this old, but please, the Twilight Zone and original Star Trek series did much, much more with much less. The Trek sets were sometimes cheap and corny, and Shatner's acting was terrible, but there were great storylines behind it all.

Well good news everyone They are doing a rifftrax for this movie this Thursday

I'm watching the Riff right now. It's HILARIOUS

It's pretty good! "Not many have survived the dangerous climb up Mount Matte Painting."

I've watched it a few times now. Good stuffs! In fact I've seen some movies on there FAR more times than I would have without the track.

I love when I an can't get into the door in the Dalek city, Mike Nelson blurts out NO DORKS ALLOWED!

The Rifftrax version was quite good. And the movie itself was alright. I'm not really a fan of DOCTOR WHO, but apparently the movie is nothing like the show.

I've seen some clips from the Rifftrax on Youtube.

Dalek: THE-YOUNG-GIRL-IS-APPROACHING. SHE-WILL-ARRIVE-HERE-SOON.
Kevin (other Dalek): Yeah, I'm looking at the same screen, Carl!

(Scene of Daleks trundling around the control room.)
Kevin: That Dalek's just pretending to work. He's actually updating his Facebook status to "What I REALLY want to exterminate is Mondays, LOL!"

They recently riffed the sequel. It's good, but I like this first one better. The movie and the riffings.

I enjoyed both films by themselves, but TV series DOCTOR WHO fans tend to bite my head off for saying that.

Ah, forget them. I enjoyed both the tv series (mostly) and the movies. Anybody who can't enjoy these films for themselves either takes the series way too seriously or has lost their sense of fun. To each their own, though.

Maybe "NooHoo" fans do but most older fans liked these movies; they were actually quite popular and successful at the time.

Yes they have elements of "cheese" as most 60s groovy movies do but it is pretty sad that most here are too ignorant of older film-making to enjoy them (criticizing them for having matte paintings FFS).
