Okay. I love Amicus (Subotsky & Rosenberg's horror studio) so is AARU an early name for Amicus or someone else's company?

Despite bearing the credit "An AARU Production", this film was made entirely by Amicus. Aaru received the sole production credit as part of a co-finance deal with Amicus, who felt they couldn't afford to make a movie of this scale alone.

While watching this again the other day, it struck me that rather than compare with with the show, it would be a better fit to see it on a double-bill with DR. TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS. Same company, and both Cushing & Castle are in both of them!

An outfit called Regal Films was involved, as per the credits. Apparently AARU was just made up on the spot.... Amicus And Regal United.
