Favorite segment?

Christopher Lee's segment wins hands-down for me, though all were excellent.

I personally liked the Donald Sutherland segment the best. It's true all were fantastic!

reply

Yes, it was quite a treat to see a very young Donald Sutherland here. What a wealth of talent in a largely forgotten film!

reply

I prefer Chrisstopher Lee's segement too as well as Sutherland's, great
reminds me of the vault of horror

Voodoo. I liked the music too.

Definitely Donald Sutherland. If the last line isn't on at least one of the AFI's "100 greatest lines" lists, that would be either pure snobbery, pure ignorance, or pure idiocy.

reply

The last line of Sutherland's is fantastic, but I spent the whole film eagerly awaiting what would happen to Lee's character. Throw in Michael Gough and it just becomes perfect!

I liked the segments in the train cabin were Cushing reads the cards.

I like your hands down pun. I see that the Christopher Lee segment is one of the most highly rated segments in all of the horror anthology movies.

reply

Fond memories of the horror great Christopher Lee, and thanks for getting the pun!

My favorite segments were the one about the jazz musician who falls prey to a voodoo curse after stealing a sacred song and the one starring Christopher Lee as the snooty art critic.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find

reply

Honestly, none of them were very good... the Christopher Lee segment was adequate, but not outstanding. The framing story was great, but unfortunately the tales themselves didn't measure up.
