Very under rated horror flick

I thought this film was great when I first saw it. Very creepy and I loved the style of it.

I totally agree. Extremely creepy. It simply cries out for a widescreen DVD release (which will probably never happen).

I dunno about it... I much preferred "Asylum" which is very similar but ten times scarier!

reply

And From Beyond the Grave was 10 times scarier than Asylum!

reply

I agree too. This movie is pretty scary. And I loved it.

Man I love anthology horror movies (I hope Creepshow 3 doesn't suck)and I love the feel of this one. It feels 'cozy'.

I always thought it was a Hammer movie what with everyone in it being a Hammer regular and all, but I guess it isn't.

ps. There aren't enough killer plants in movies.

It feels just like a hammer film from the way its lit and shot too. and your right there arent enough killer plant movies. I don't think Creepshow 3 is going to be very good though, But this movie rocks!

This movie has a nice vibe, but it's no classic. The stories are actually rather ho-hum (except the severed hand and the doctor-vampire). Fortunately, Freddie Francis brings enough style to the low-budget movie to make it look decently atmospheric and suspenseful.

I laughed all the time watching this.

Watching this now on the Horror Channel for the first time in years! Sadly I missed The Creeping Vine segment, which makes me laugh every time.

reply

The original story for the "hand" segment is one of the most TERRIFYING THINGS I HAVE EVER READ!!!!!!

reply

Watched the first 2 segments online. The Creeping Vine isn't the story I thought it was, and it made me really sad when Rusty the dog died. I thought that segment was the story of a weed that grows in a drain and turns people into plants, but that must be another film.

reply

Agreed. This film rates as a very enjoyable omnibus outing.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
