Really Lara? (Spoiler Alert)

This is one of my all time favorite movies & just got home from seeing it on the big screen. One thing puzzled me at the end this time. When Zhivago is trying to get off the Trolley at the end, is that really Lara walking down the street? I swear that seeing it larger than life, it was not Julie Christie.

I saw the movie Thursday night at a suburban Chicago theater, digitally restored. It was definitely Lara. Definitely.

I read somewhere that it was the actress playing the pedestrian whom Zhivago thought was Lara was, indeed, Julie Christie. Looks like poor Zhivago was right, and it's just too bad he couldn't contain his excitement.

Whatever you do, DO NOT read this sig--ACKKK!!! TOO LATE!!!

A spoiler alert, on.... a fifty-year-old movie??

Yes, it was her. Right after that scene, Yuri's brother explains that she was back in Moscow to look for her daughter, and we see shots of them together. I think that when she walks off for the last time, she is wearing a similar drab outfit as the one in the streetcar scene.
