The old gypsy woman

Was obviously 'borrowed' from The Wolf Man (1941) in which a remarkably similar character was played by Maria Ouspenskaya (sp?). The main difference being that the Maria O. character was 100 times better - better acted, much more mysterious and with an effortless air of sympathy for the doomed victim-to-be.

Not surprising really as The Wolf Man was in every way far superior to this poor excuse for a 'horror' film. In fact I am not going to even mention the other film's title in the same paragraph.

I watched DoD once, as I do like a good old-fashioned vampire film. What I got was certainly old-fashioned, but as far from good as it's possible to get. Won't be watching again.
