Gamera is the biggest rip-off of godzilla ever!

i mean come on woken up by gamma bombs and then destroying tokyo?......godzilla! and saying this guy could even stand up to godzilla is ridicoulous listen here's a scene that would show if gamera and godzilla fought

{godzilla has just fought gigan mechagodzilla and king ghidorah at once and somehow survived}

Alien Leader:send out the secret weapon

{a beam shoots down and lo and behold gamera has shown up Godzilla is awestrcuk}

Godzilla:What? What the hell? what is this

Alien Leader:it's our secret weapon

Godzilla:Secret Wea?it's a freakin turtle! he's not ever half my size!

Gamera:Hey! i'm right here!

Godzilla:Hold on short stuff listen i'am the king of the monsters and i don't need to fight cheap ripoff's of me so i'm gonna go

Gamera:Hey!

Godzilla:All right let's get this over with i gotta take a nap

{Gamera twirls at Godzilla with all his might but Godzilla Catches his Shell and twirls it in the empire state building where it is buried in the rubble

Godzilla:Game...Over

Godzilla Goes in the sea and swims away

I think that's the point

He's a rival studio's answer to Godzilla. Gamera is indeed more vulnerable that Godzilla, something that was later copped by Toho, which makes for some interesting fights. I'd recommend the excellent trilogy released during the nineties to absolutely any kaiju fan. Those give a whole different spin on a theoretical battle between Japan's biggest movie-monsters. Give them a try!

Yes, there were many similarities. I don't think this is quite as good as Godzilla but is still an OK movie. Certainly not one I'd want to watch every single day but it is worth watching at least once.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

A lot depends on which versions we are talking about here.

Heisei Gamera probably would have kicked any version of Godzilla's butt. Showa Gamera, not so much.
