i bought a bootleg...

...on vhs b/c i'm to cheap to buy the fly dvd pack it's in and this bootleg was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
horrible. since curse of the fly is in cinemascope this bootleg really sucked b/c the guy who recorded it on his camcorder had the camera close to the screen insted of putting the camecorder in the back of his room so you could see the whole thing. i feel retarted for buying this copy.

as for the film, i can't really comment on it b/c of how crappy the bootleg is.

I guess that's what you get for being cheap and settling on an obsolete medium [VHS]. If you had bought the DVD boxset, not only would you have gotten "Curse", you'd have gotten the first 2 as well. All movies have been transfered from quality sources, restored to original widescreen shape AND the first has a commentary with David Hedison speaking. Can't beat that especially if you get lucky like me and find the boxset for $29.95 at Meijer's (a Great Lakes-area store-chain that Walmart's copied).

Plus, a bonus documentary disc is included in this wonderful set. A great trilogy.

It's called "Meijer" not "Meijer's". I always wondered why people in the midwest and/or Michigan/Indiana add the 's at the end of words, like Kroger's instead of Kroger. Can you imagine someone saying Walmart's?! I remember Meijer quite well, it was a horrific place to shop as it drew in the severely poor and uneducated.

Up here in Michigan we do. Meijer's as in "Meijer's big store" or Kroger's as in "Kroger's grocery" and even Walmart's as in "Walmart's store that copies Meijer's concept."

Not that much worse than Walmart. Hey, Meijer's was the only non-internet store that sold The Fly Boxset at all- and for a price lower than what Amazon sold it. They can't be that bad, LOL. Best-Buy didn't carry it, neither did FYE (For Your Entertainment).

It is NOT called "Meijer's" with an 's at the end, it is called MEIJER. Period. Same with KROGER and WAL-MART. Adding the 's is an uneducated, trashy way of saying things. It's so embedded in the intellect of the midwest that they just DON'T GET IT!! To write back and say "we say it anyway" makes absolutely no sense at all. That's like saying "everybody says ain't, so it's okay to say that too."
It's hard to take someone seriously when they can't write intelligently.

I did not just respond with "we say it anyway". I gave a thorough explanation in my first response to you. Read it again.

I don't believe in saying "ain't". It's bad grammar- far worse than saying "Meijer's". Wow, I never thought a common interest shared by two people, (The Fly movies) would end up provoking a pissing contest over a disagreement about the pronunciation of a store's name.
