Delambre?

Ok, I know that this has to do with Andre Delambre's son and his grandchildren. I only thought he had one son, Phillipe? Where does Martin come in? Does this movie have anything to do with a fly at all? I'm a little confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was a bit confused as well but this is how I figured it must be:

Brian Donlevy plays Henri DeLambre who must be the son of Philippe and the grandson of Andre. Martin is the grandson of Philippe. At first I thought that Brian Donlevy played an older Philippe but I see in the cast list his characters name is Henri. I think it would have worked better if they had made the story about Philippe and his sons. I rather enjoyed the movie but found it confusing in the sense of continuity with the other FLY movies. Donlevy makes reference to his son about his grandfathers work in teleportation but he must be referring to Philippe and not to Andre. It doesn't matter but it makes for interesting conversation.

This thread is ancient history, but there are plenty of statements in the film indicating that Henri is the son of André. André's son is named Henri in George Langelaan's original short story, so that's probably how the writer got confused.

As someone else pointed out, there's also nothing to forbid Henri being Philippe's brother. Helene could have been pregnant before her husband got messed up. It's a stretch, but no worse than the knots Star Trek fans tie themselves into to explain continuity errors.
