Who's seen it?

By which I mean the newly-released Fly DVD set including this and both Vincent Price films?

Opinions?

I saw it for the first time when I bought the DVD set two weeks ago. I watched this film first b/c I seen the other ones. I was actually kinda surprised. I knew going into the film that there was no 'fly' creature in this film but I did find the film to be kind of interesting. I think though that since the film was made about 6 years after the other two that it may have not been memorable - and you can tell it was made in England, another reason probably the film was never released here before.

Film Ratings

THE FLY - ***** A great classic creature feature worthy of seeing

RETURN OF THE FLY - *** An okay feature, the b&w kinda hurt the film for me.

CURSE OF THE FLY - **** An interesting 'finale' to the series.

Just this afternoon I watched "Curse" from "The Fly" boxset that I bought on Tuesday. The film moves quickly, it's very 1960s science fiction, looking like an extended episode from "The Outer Limits". As for the 1958 Fly movie, it's dvd has a commentary from David Hedison and some film critic in where they chat about the movie telling stories of what went on behind the scenes, voicing their thoughts about various scenes, etc.

This film was on TV back in the 60's and I watched it then. I remember liking the film very much then as it had some very creepy properties. I should like to see it again and am glad to find out that it is available now on DVD.

This is a terrific box set! It's especially great to see "The Curse of the Fly" on dvd. The bonus features are plentiful although the bonus feature reguarding the early fly series was better presented on the 2 disc "Fly II". Well worth the cost.

close to a decade after the original which was made in colour this is in b&w, not one actor i can name, unlike the other dvds this only had one subtitle. feels very distant from the first two fly movies i wouldn't have noticed it was a sequel, no vincent price, i don't think the fly even bothers to appear. the door trap was scary for a while, until the monster shows up which kind of looks like a heavy set guy with stockings over his head, the female lead has little clothing in the opening of the movie which should have been put later in the movie for much bigger impact after being used of seeing her fully dressed throughout the movie. ironic line as the movie closes "is this the end ?"

through my window the lightbulb shine,
so far from you in the dark night,
since you've been gone from our little old house,
trouble been haunting me,
and i can't find no sleep,
looking up at the black sky,
do you also girl think of me tonight,
i hope youre enjoying yourself wherever you are now,
some sunny day,
will you come back my way,
until then keep the light on in your window,
and let the light in black sky honey connect our homes.
