Perhaps not. The Deccan Traps were 10 times as large and whilst they probably contributed to the end of the Dinosaurs it was the meteor wot dun it. Still, I think we'd be in for a very rough time climate wise and the lovely Miss Scott and rugged geologist (Geologists are always rugged and, if male, handsome - this is a known fact) Mr Moore would have been toast.
