Perfect remake timing!

Imagine a big-budget remake of CitW, an attempt to detonate a small tactical nuke to seal up the current Gulf oil spill with horrific consequences! Of course, the current day scientific reality of tectonic plates is somewhat problematic from a story perspective, but hey...it's only a movie!

This is a late reply, but a remake is being planned.

Hope it dies in 'development hell'

CGI GALORE with characters you couldn't care less about.
