Hanoi Jane

In 1966 the year this movie came out I was busy going through the jungle preparedness school in anticipation of a likely upcoming trip to Viet Nam. So anyone heeping praise on Jane Fonda would be encouraged to do an internet search of "HANOI JANE FONDA."

Imagine today, say right after 911, an American movie star traveling to Tora Bora to meet with, and be filmed with Osama bin Laden.

I fully and willingly confess to being biased. But as my generation dies off, I hope the record of Miss Fondas anti-American activities will continue to haunt her. The deaths of soldiers, whatever the number, trouble her to the day she dies.

Congrats on the award Jane.

Just to be fair, her misguided activities in Hanoi didn't occur until 1972, well after this film was made.

No one cares.

What would the mid-60s equivalent of 9-11, whose mastermind Jane Fonda supported, be?

To make a parallel to Osama Bin Laden, there has to be some sort of initial strike against America for comparison.

Yawn.... nobody cares apart from you and the other baby-killers. You'll hate a woman for fifty years who argued against the war, yet happily forget all about Lt. Calley and My Lai.
