Annette's 'I'll Never Change Him'...

For those tired of waiting to see it or never seen it, I posted on YouTube.com the complete "I'll Never Change Him" number from "Beach Blanket Bingo" that was taken out of the theatrical print of the film, but sometimes turns-up put back into the film when the film airs on TV (but not TCM -- they only show the theatrical print of the film, which is the same as the DVD version).

Thanks a lot Surfer Joe. I was so upset when TCM ran BBB recently and of course it didn't have "I'll Never Change Him."

It was great to see it again!

Thanks for the info. I never understood why the song was removed from the theatrical print. The reason I bought the VHS (and later the DVD) was to have the entire unedited film, so I was very disappointed when "I'll Never Change Him" was missing. As you said, the song is still in some network TV broadcasts of the film. Ironicallym the song is also still in the video versions--but only as instrumental background music!

You're a lifesaver SurferJoe! I love that song. Deborah Walley sings the exact same song when she "takes over" for Annette Funicello in one of the later movies. I think it's set in a ski lodge.

Have you heard Donna Loren singing "I'll Never Change Him"? I have her CD called "Songs from Beach Blanket Bingo". You can order a copy from her web-site. I love her singing!. She had such a strong voice. However I feel both Deborah Walley and Annette had talent for singing as well.

Try again Surfer Joe, youtube says it has been removed for violation!

I taped "BBB" off of AMC in 2001, and "I'll Never Change Him" was included. But when the DVD came out, I tossed out my video, not knowing it was a rare scene I wouldn't ever see again.

Donna Loren's version is also good. Man, she had the power!!

Surfer Joe, thanks for putting I'll Never Change Him on YouTube. I thought the song was the best in the movie. Here's a little insight on what happened. I lived in California in 1965. California was one of the first states to get the theatrical release. As the film crossed the country, someone decided to cut the film from the movie. By the time it got to Florida, the song was removed from the film! Guy Hemric (the songwriter) told me that when Deb Walley was signed to do Ski Party, he wrote the song for her. How Annette got to sing it in the movie that preceeded Ski Party, is beyond me. And then to remove it??So, that's why some broadcasts on tv have the song, and some don't.
