The punchline in the final scene influenced my life's work

In the final scene, "Nikki" (Elke) is finally posing nude for "Paul Sloan" (Van Dyke). When he says the painting is done, she walks over to see it. She's puzzled to see she's been painted in a big elaborate dress. "If you were going to paint me clothed, why did you want me naked?"
To which, Van Dyke looks at the camera and smiles.

I've been doing figure photography and paintings ever since college. No matter how the models appears on the final canvas, they're always nude in the initial poses and reference photos.
