should I open it...

When I heard the Criterion dvd was going OOP I ordered it. I've never seen it but would really like to. Should I open it or keep it in the plasic wrapping so it'll be worth more money someday?

reply

It is a really great movie, but there is probably another way to watch it. I wouldn't open it, except as a last resort.

black and white movies were better

Oh I don't know, maybe try...

The Australian DVD
The Brazilian DVD
The British DVD (still in print and with noticeably superior picture quality to the Criterion DVD)
The Canadian DVD
The French DVD (may not have English subs, probably from same print as British DVD)
The Hong Kong DVD
The Japanese DVD (may not have English subs)
The Korean DVD
The Spanish DVD (may not have English subs)

I'm sure it is available in other countries as well.

you can download it and watch it

reply

I highly doubt it'll ever be worth much. But, eh, if you can download it, might as well just d/l it and burn it and sell your unopened copy.

Buy a used copy and eventually sell off your new copy, you will end up with more money than you started!

You thought the original poster might still be struggling with this question six years later?

reply

No, but this is advice I dispense often, and anyone reading this could still benefit from said advice.

reply

i say hold on to it for a few more years. At least you might get something good out of this dog$hit movie :)
