Takeshi Shimura
I think this was his final film with Kurosawa, does anyone know where he is in this film ?
shareShimura is in the scene directly following Red Beard's visit to the overweight lord. He questions Red Beard as to the true value of Doctors and medicine.
We do get to see Shimura in a bit part in "Kagemusha" but you need the new Criterion DVD to see it. Too bad Kurosawa couldn't find bigger roles for Shimura after "The Seven Samurai".
