IMDb mentions two runtimes : 185 min / 300 min (without intermission).
I have seen the 185 min version and loved it. Does anyone have seen the longer version ? Is it available somewhere in DVD or VHS ? Which one Kurosawa's prefered cut ?

At least in Japan, the movie has always been 185 mins
since its original theatrical release to the most recent blu-ray from Toho.
Also, I've never heard it was cut from longer form.
(like "Hakuchi (The Idiot)", which was cut by Shochiku from 265 mins to 166 mins.)
