More agony than ecstasy


Poor pace and a wasted opportunity to show Julius II for the pugnacious, whoring Warrior Pope he really was. Rex is way too fussy in this part, and Heston looks nothing like Michelangelo, who was short, homely, brilliant and apparently given to writing impassioned homoerotic poetry. (How it would have thrilled Heston to know that, lol.)
