Network DVDs: two different editions?

I came across a different edition of the Network DVD set. That's the British, hour-long episodes one. The pic on the box cover is a colour one and there's no book inside, just the 13 dvds. I've never seen it before so I was wondering if someone else here has. It seems strange to me that Network releases a different packaged set in a so short period (the first one is from last year).

I have read elsewhere that the original production run has been sold and a further run made. However this fresh production does not include the book. One can only assume terms were not agreed with the author.

The first set which had the book was a limited edition (Network did this with THE PRISONER as well) while the second set is identical minus the book. Definitely worth getting the Network set for the special features and UK music & titles.

THE PRISONER SET had a couple of Easter Eggs. So far no one can tell me if the DANGER MAN set also has some.

Network DVDs usually have a smudge or so on at least one episode! Danger Man, The Persuaders and Timeslip to mention just a few...
