Why is this show never rerun?

This show was a good one, and we should see some reruns appearing somewhere on the cable networks!

I'm very surprised at this myself. Its seems that TRIO would be a good candidate to do this with their Brilliant but Cancelled series. Too bad Direct TV dropped them from subscription.

The only time I ever saw the show was on reruns in late 1980's. A third rate UHF station needed filler for their afternoon hours. This show and "To Catch a Thief" were the two modern shows they used for that purpose. Within a year, the station shut down.

I would imagine the problem is a lack of name stars and the rights holders. I like d the show myself but it is a bit of a downer. "Along Came Bronson" would be another show that could be paired with RFYL.

It's hard to find these shows anywhere. I was lucky, I found someone selling bootleg Then Came Bronson's on ebay, and managed to get his REAL address before Saint Ebay swept in with their sanctimonious sword of righteouness, defending copyright laws for shows of the last millenium, that don't even have their OWN dvd out. I wonder if I could pull the same rabbit out of a hat with Run For Your Life...

Sure it wasn't "It Takes a Thief"?

Now if that bastard so much as twitches, I'm going to blow him right to Mars.

It IS; every Saturday afternoon from 3-4:00 p.m. E.T. om myretrotv dot com.

Today's episode: "Beware My Love" (1968) with Paul __________ in the credits as the chauffer, but not on the imdb site.

I'm surprised no one has thought about turning it into a big screen adventure series. People I could see trying on the role:
Travolta
Sean Penn
Dean Cain(he could use some work like this)
Wesley Snipes
Kyle Maclauchlan(sorry about the spelling)
a bunch of guys. The premise still holds up.

Boo! No more remakes please.

I definitely concur!! Can anyone say "The Mod Squad", "Charlie's Angels", "The Honeymooners", "McHale's Navy", "I Spy", and "The Wild, Wild West"? Disasterous.

I loved "Run For Your Life." It always seemed to have such diverse and interesting plots. You never knew where he was going to end up next.

I remember seeing re-runs of it in the early '80s (or late '70s?) on a distant TV station (I think it was a second-rate San Diego station). I'm from L.A. and could only get the signal from the San Diego station sporadically—and only on a funky little portable B&W TV. But I looked forward to "Run For Your Life" so much that I suffered through all of these obstacles to see it. I wish they'd release it on DVD or something!

There's only 96 votes (as of this posting) over on http://www.tvshowsondvd.com. I guess the writing's on the wall...

I don't know either. I've tried to find this everywhere with no luck. It was a great show.

I liked it too; but have never seen it around. Maybe because Ben Gazzara only had a few really memorable roles. One in RUN FOR YOUR LIFE; one in SCRUPLES; and one in QB VII

"Run for your Life" was one of the great shows of the 60s. My brother and I used to watch it on our little black and white TV on summer nights and it's one of those shows that reminds us of the "good ole days." Sure, the premise of the show was far-fetched but it gave the Paul Bryan character a lot of leeway to do all the dangerous things that kept the show exciting. I remember an episode that took place in Spain or Portugal maybe, about cliff divers, and Bryan of course had to try his hand at that. I think there was more than one episode about him driving race cars. And of course, there was that fantastic theme music by Pete Rugolo. I've never seen the show in reruns but I'd sure love to have it on DVD.

As of this writing,it's on Cozi TV at 10am (Central) on weekdays.

Appropos of nothing, I was 15 years old when I heard the first mention EVER of the show and it was simply an announcer saying something like "don't miss 'Run For Your Life' tonight at 9" or whatever. He NEVER MENTIONED the premise. But for some reason, I had a hunch that the premise was exactly what it was...that the guy in the show had only so many years to live.

reply

Not many 40 year old shows that get put on cable, unless it's on the TV Land channel or one of those.

"Run for your life" and "Then came Bronson" were my two favorite tv shows of the late '60s. I'd buy them if they were issued on DVD. I think they could become cult favorites for younger people if they put them out.
