Thoughts about "The Reluctant Stowaway"

I just saw part of "The Reluctant Stowaway" on Utube and have some thoughts.

Dr. Smith snuck onto the Jupiter 2 to sabotage it and then snuck out again. Later he accompanied the Robinsons onto the ship along with technicians making final checks and others. Since Smith didn't hide, he was supposed to be aboard the second time.

So there should have been a list of people who were supposed to be aboard at that time, and Smith was on it. So when everyone left before the blast off, they should have been checked off the list one by one. The blast off should have been delayed once Smith was late getting out.

In real space missions, the astronauts usually board hours before lift off. And anyone in the capsule with them leaves hours or at least many minutes before lift off - for one thing they have to have enough time to get out of the dangerous blast zone, often having to reach a point miles away.

So the way Smith was trapped aboard couldn't happen that way in real life. That could be one reason why the Jupiter 2 didn't blast off with a gigantic rocket but instead seemed to use anti gravity or something. That way the technicians didn't have to speed away many minutes before lift off and could stay aboard long enough for Smith to be trapped aboard.

I also noticed that a close up of Will in the suspended animation tube showed him moveing noticably. Not very much, but more so that the others. I wonder if that bothers Bill Mumy when and if he watches "The Reluctant Stowawy"..

In the unaired pilot they went on about how the suspended animation tubes were the only way the Robinson family and Don would survive liftoff. This was noticeably absent from "The Reluctant Stowaway" as they wouldn't be able to explain how Dr. Smith survived. Yes, Will was moving a little but I took that to be from the movement of the Jupiter 2 during and shortly after liftoff.
