Loving the Blu-Ray

There have been a lot of complaints about the packaging and shipments arriving damaged, but I got my set through Amazon Canada via UPS and had no problems at all. The box is a little flimsy but no more so than other sets in my collection. The disks are hard to remove from the cardboard sleeves, but I found that if I used a small, soft cloth (like the type used to clean eyeglasses) I was able to grip the disks and remove them without leaving scratches or fingerprints.
The sound and picture quality are great.
I wish all the extras were subtitled and that they had included more than 5 minutes of "Lost In Space Forever."
The price seems to be very changeable. Amazon now has it at $199. It was $149 on release day (yesterday). I pre-ordered mine and paid a little over $100 (including UPS) with the exchange rate.

Ordered it for $159 on Amazon and in five hours it was at my door!

The discs can be removed easily. Just wash your hands so fingerprints are less likely when removing the discs. I have seen much worse packaging. The first season looks fabulous on blu ray!
Love watching the episodes with the original commercials. Glad to see them release this series on blu ray because it looks fantastic (so far).

Got my set through Amazon. Arrived in a bubble-lined envelope. Contents looked great. Due to all the packaging issues I saw on line, I purchased three 6 disc blu ray cases. Without too much effort, I was able to remove the discs and transfer them to to my blu ray cases. I had originally ordered the cases with protecting the discs in mind, but when I saw how nice the packaging looked, I then was happy that I'd be protecting the box too.

Despite the fact that the discs are tight, the packaging visually complements the set nicely. I feel it was worth purchasing three 6 disc cases which make accessing discs simple as well as keeping the box & inserts like new. I've already downloaded covers for the 3 cases. (haven't printed them out yet). Since the set was set up with 6 discs per season, it all works our just right, one case per season. My original box just sits up displayed (Unless I want to refer to the notes etc.)

The 6-Disc Viva Elite Blu-ray Cases are available at Amazon, Ebay etc. and are a worth while addition to the set. Many others are storing their Lost in Space discs this way.
