New 12-Disc Soundtrack Release!

La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack set for Lost in Space (1965), consisting of three box sets, one for each season, four discs each!

It's kind of pricey, and there's only 1,500 units, meaning it will run out and become rare, like their releases for The Outer Limits (1963) and Star Trek (1966).

I got mine yesterday, and although I've only listened to the first two discs from the 1st season, it's great! Has anyone else gotten it?

WELL Against my better judgement got the set

Primed to hear the Ice Princess theme!!!

One Question Does anyone know what film the Royal Fanfare from his Majesty Smith is from?

reply

It sounds like a extract from a 1950's knights in shining armor film - but it is familiar. I'll do some research.

WELL aFter your endorsement checking the site debating HEAVLIY over the cost and decided it is a Unbirthday Present Got the Soundtrack and took three days or so to go through it

NO REGRETS

Probably saw episodes of Lost i Space during it's last season in prime time w my brother BUT after it went into syndicationI saw the whole thing (more or less) so I could be called a second generation fan 9AT that point I would remeber things Probably three or four

And one of my earilier posts claims one if not THE BEST things about the show was the music original or reused from another source My favorite themes as a kid were The Ice princess Theme the JetPack (not knowing the JetPack was from another film (listening to it now)as well as may others)

So in 2005 for the fortieth anniversary got the first CD Nice but those themes WERE NOT ON IT!

It was then I found out the Jetpack was from 12 Mile Reef and eventually at a garage sale found an LP copy of the soundtrack with other Bernard Herriman Highlights

And also knew other music was used notably the Day The Earth Stood Still Swiss Eamily Robinson(!) Miracle on 34th street as well as others so when an unfamiliar track would come on was it from another film?

SO when I got this first thing I put on??????? The Ice Prince Castles in Space
just to here that music even as a kid it always touched a nerve it was just perfect and hearing all the other background tracks (WHERE WERE THESE WHEN I WAS MAKING STUDENT FILMS?)and thanks to DVD You Tube Hulu etc can enjoy the show again since coming home from grade school afternoons to watch it

The Best Part THE RECORDINGS FROM THE OTHER FILMS ARE THE ACTUAL RECORDINGS

so I have a ACTUAL copy of The Day The earth Stood Still among others instead of a rehash

And while listening to the Ice Princess imagine my surprise Will and Judy singing Sloop John B!

AND the Robot's Guitar sole among others

AGAIN No regrets in spending Money on this (yes it is PRICEY)

Highly Recommended!!

And that's my two cents

Well I'm very happy you liked it. I hadn't realised Bernard Herrmann wrote the Jetpack theme for Beneath the 12 Mile reef. It's actually too good for that film but fits the flying sequences like a glove. I'd always assumed is was John Williams.

Late to the party but if anybody still cares that cue was from "Prince Valiant", from the "jousting scene". The national anthem played briefly was the main title from "The Enemy Below" and it was also used in the similar episode "Cave of the Wizards". Both movies were Fox titles.
